Nature Asia-Pacific Publishing Rankings 2009
The Nature Asia-Pacific Publishing Rankings 2009 is the first print issue of an ambitious and pioneering project based on the newly established Nature Asia-Pacific Publishing Index — a measure of the performance of institutions and countries in the Asia-Pacific region (including India and Australasia) according to the number of primary research articles published in Nature journals. Nature and its family of Nature-branded sister journals, world-renowned as the pre-eminent platform for publication of the very best international research, are uniquely positioned to serve as a benchmark for research success and achievement.
The Nature Asia-Pacific Publishing Rankings 2009 is based on data from the Nature Asia-Pacific Publishing Index for the period between 1 January and 31 December 2009, and offers insight and analysis into the performance of all Asia-Pacific nations and territories appearing in the Index during that time. The magazine also offers a number of features not available on the Index website itself, such as alternative country rankings based on population and GDP, as well as introductions to the top ten research institutions from the Asia-Pacific region in 2009 as judged by the Nature Asia-Pacific Publishing Index. Additional features include a guide to how to get the best out of the Index and a comprehensive list of the publishing records of the top five institutions in Nature and each of the 15 Nature sister journals. The magazine also includes two expert commentaries providing a context for the Index and analysis of the current and future direction of scientific research and publishing in the Asia-Pacific region.
